Neograft and other automated FUE devices speed up the removal of hair follicles from the donor area. They do this by using a rotating punch, and in the case of Neograft suction. These devices do not produce a better result by itself. It takes a doctor with many years of experience to choose the proper donor area, design a hairline, and choose which blade should be used to make recipient sites. Neograft doesn't do this, it takes a person to make these decisions.
Benefits of Neograft are: Faster removal of follicular units, and if the doctor using the device chooses, lower cost to patients. In the hands of experienced doctors and technicians Neograft will improve a FUE procedure.
It is not fair to compare Neograft to strip FU, they are different procedures. If you want to compare Neograft to other FUE techniques, that is fair.
Remember that a hair transplant procedure involves many steps, removing the follicles is just one step. To say that a device can produce a better result is a stretch. If I said that a forcep can produce a better hair transplant result, no one would believe me, and they shouldn't. A forcep is just a tool. It's the person, or in the case of a hair transplant, the team that produces a better result.
When choosing a doctor to perform a hair transplant, with or without Negraft, base your decision on experience. Dr. Bauman gave an interview where he warned neograft patient's, I believe he was just telling prospective patient's to do their research, and find an experienced Neograft doctor.
